I added some more trees. Each section of foliage has it's own layer. To change
the color of the leaves, go to:
IMAGE - ADJUSTMENTS - COLOR BALANCE, or just press CTRL - B.
Play around with the midtone colors.

Let's do rocks now. Make a new layer for the rocks.
I started by just drawing a black outline of a rock, like in the tree example.
I used a normal brush.
The rock palatte I will use:

Do the same method as the tree trunk. So easy!

Smudge the colors using the same method and settings as the tree, and sharpen the edges if needed.

Using the tree method, add some cracks and stuff with the smudge tool.
I used both the DARKEN and LIGHTEN settings for the smudge tool to sploosh
colors around.

Next I turned the smudge tool down to 1%, set it to NORMAL MODE, and just smoothed out the rock.

Next, I sharpened the edges some more, then ran the pixilate filter on it.

Toss some more rocks around. Here are two more rock palattes:

There. When I use the smudge tool to add dark lines, I try to make them look like scratches in the rock.

You can also use the dodge tool to bring on highlights on the rocks.
NEXT: HAPPY LITTLE BUSHES AND GRASS!
